LITHOLOGY OF MESOZOIC-CENOZOIC ROCKS OF KANIV'S DISLOCATIONS
Abstract
The description of lithology of callovian and gliadov rocks of area Kaniv's dislocations is proposed. The rock were studies microscopically. Careful investigation have shown, that the rocks contain the rests fossil with silicon skeleton: Sponge spicules, diatomic algae tests. It was reason of consequent rise of siliceous matter volume in the rocks. Sand and the sandstone have opal cement with different degree of crystallisation. The hardness of sandstone depends on degree of cement crystallisation. The siliceous beds and blocks of different size among sand and sandstone are introduced chalcedony and spongolite rocks formed in places of an accumulation of siliceous detritus.
