Open-Access Policy
Principles of Open Access
The journal «Visnyk of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Geology» adheres to an Open Access policy to ensure that research results are free and accessible to anyone with internet access, thereby promoting progress in science and technology in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
The Editorial Board supports the BOAI20 recommendations and the UNESCO Recommendations on Open Science, striving to implement them in its operations.
Open Access means that all articles published in the journal are freely available for reading, downloading, and distribution immediately upon publication. Readers are permitted to share and adapt the materials, provided that the journal and authors are properly cited in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).
Licensing Terms and Attribution
Under the CC BY 4.0 license, authors retain copyright while allowing anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, and distribute their work, subject to mandatory attribution of the original authors and the source of publication.
Data Sharing Policy
In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding the implementation of Open Science principles, the journal encourages authors to provide access to the research data underlying their studies.
Open Data: We recommend that authors deposit raw data, software code, or supplementary materials in trusted open repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, Pangaea).
Data Availability Statement: Authors are encouraged to include a «Data Availability Statement» section in their manuscript, providing a link (DOI) to the deposited data. This facilitates the verification of results and increases the level of trust in the publication.
Archiving Policy and Digital Security
The Editorial Board takes measures to guarantee the long-term preservation of published materials and permanent access to them:
LOCKSS and CLOCKSS: The journal utilizes the LOCKSS distributed archiving system (via the Open Journal Systems platform) to create permanent archives for the purpose of data preservation and restoration.
National Digital Repositories: All full issues of the journal are deposited in the collections of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
Institutional Preservation: Copies of articles are archived in the electronic repository of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Self-Archiving (Green Open Access)
The journal permits authors to self-archive the accepted and published versions of their articles (Publisher's PDF) on personal websites, institutional repositories, or scholarly social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), provided that a full bibliographic reference to the original publication in the «Visnyk» is included.
Diamond Open Access Policy
Our journal operates under the Diamond Open Access publishing model. This model ensures that authors are not subject to any fees for submission, peer review, or editorial and publishing processing.
