УКРАЇНСЬКІ ЕНЦИКЛОПЕДІЇ ТА СЛОВНИКИ В КОНТЕКСТІ ПОШИРЕННЯ ГЕОЛОГІЧНИХ ЗНАНЬ

Здійснено огляд енциклопедичних і словникових видань, присвячених геологічним наукам. Акцентовано на відсутності комплексної української геологічної енциклопедії та наведено аргументи необхідності її створення. Обґрунтовано важливість словників, що репрезентують галузеву термінологію, зокрема геологічну: "Словник геологічної термінології" (1923), "Російсько-український геологічний словник" (1959), "Російсько-український словник геологічних термінів" (1993), "Російськоукраїнський геологічний словник" (2011), "Українсько-французько-англійський словник з геології, геофізики, буріння свердловин та нафтогазопромислової справи" (2011), "Російсько-український геологічний словник" (2016), "Геологічний словник: відкритий навчально-науковий вебресурс" (2017), "Російсько-український геологічний словник" (2018), "Словник геологічних термінів: українсько-російсько-англійський" (2020); решта – мінералогічні, гірничі, петрографічні, геодезичні тощо. Наголошено, що наявні енциклопедичні й лексикографічні видання, попри їх доволі велику кількість (сукупно виявлено понад 40 джерел), не забезпечують українського споживача знаннями зі всіх наук геологічного циклу, адже в окремих галузях створено низку словників та енциклопедичних видань, в інших – жодних. Привернуто увагу до проблеми поширення у сфері навчання галузевих енциклопедично-словникових видань у часи великої популярності довідкового інтернет-ресурсу "Wikipedia". Автори роблять висновок про необхідність створення сучасної геологічної енциклопедії як єдиного джерела достовірних довідкових знань з геології українською мовою.
